The completion of a program of study is also required to qualify for a Doctoral degree. The course study, supported by the University of Bordeaux and the graduate school, provides the student with achieving a personal formation in general and/or supporting fields to apply for academic and non-academic jobs requiring a higher education degree.

It is mandatory to be funded (min 900 € / month for 36 months) to register as a PhD student of the University of Bordeaux graduate school Sciences and Environments. Grants are annually offered to the most able students, including non-French students providing that they have a Master’s degree, based on the so-called concours au mérite examination. Regular application on offered fellowship is also available all year long.
