Introducing

The "Sciences and environments" doctoral school offers a doctoral training program in earth and space sciences, ecology, the environment, archaeology, philosophy, and the history of science.

The "Sciences and environments" doctoral school was created in 2007 and is one of eight doctoral schools affiliated with the University of Bordeaux College of Doctoral Studies.

It works with five CNRS or INRAE joint research units, a host research team from the University of Bordeaux and the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, and 1 INRAE research units.

In total, the school has more than 200 researchers and teaching staff, 100 of whom are Accredited to Supervise Research (HDR). The Doctoral School (DS) covers a range of fields that includes earth and space sciences, ecology, archaeology, and the history of science.

Missions

Doctoral School No 304 - Sciences and Environments:

administer the Sciences and Environments doctoral program by helping doctoral candidates prepare a thesis based on innovative and original research in one of the research units: BIOGECO, EABX, EPOC, ISPA, PACEA, SAVE or SPH ;
offer an individual skills development program to support the doctoral candidate's research project and career plan ;
allocate doctoral grants ;
inform and supervise doctoral candidates, from course enrolment to viva, in accordance with the thesis charter ;
monitor the thesis preparation process and the career paths of PhD graduates.
