Authorization to supervise a thesis (ADT) is granted by the select ACademic Council (CAC) based on the assessment of the doctoral school council, according to a timeline set at the beginning of the academic year.
The ADT must be requested when the future PhD candidate enrolls in the PhD program at the doctoral school.
Since January 2018, applicants are requested to provide a certificate of attendance to the supervision of doctoral students training proposed by University of Bordeaux.
The ADT can only be given for one thesis supervision (100%) or two co-supervisions (2 x 50%) during a researcher or lecturer's career to give them the opportunity to gain the supervisory experience needed to apply for the HDR diploma.
